Impact: 

Carey was a client at a Montgomery County Emergency Shelter with her four children. While residing at the shelter, Carey started a well-paying full-time job and spent time finding apartments for rent. She was able to find a unit that she could afford without ongoing rent assistance and planned to utilize Rapid Rehousing- Lite. While working with Housing Resource Center staff to coordinate the necessary documentation for move-in assistance to be provided, the assigned Housing Locator provided a $250 Holding Fee to her landlord. This fee worked to both maintain a positive relationship with a new landlord as well as to ensure the unit was secured for Carey and her family to be able to move into soon.
