Brighter Horizon’s mission is to support high school students in becoming the first in their family to pursue a four-year college education or an associate’s degree and a career in the trades.
With a focus on academic achievement, mentoring, and financial need, the Organization seeks to open opportunities for underserved youth to whom a four-year degree or an associate’s degree and a career in trades would otherwise be inaccessible.
“Being a part of Brighter Horizon is one of the biggest blessings I have received to date. I was welcomed into this program at a time when I had many doubts on how I would continue to afford my education at my dream school. Brighter Horizon turned my doubts into hope and made my dream come true, and continues to me support post-graduation! “
Barry, Temple University
“Brighter Horizon believed in my potential even when I couldn’t see it myself. What makes this program truly beautiful is the heart of the people behind it. The mentors, peers, and supporters who cheered me on and invested in my growth. Giving me a sense of community and belonging I can’t imagine living without. They’ve helped me step into opportunities I once thought were beyond my reach. Brighter Horizon hasn’t just helped me grow; it has helped me believe in myself.”
Malik, Georgetown University
“Thank you, Brighter Horizon, for being constants in a world that too often shifted beneath my feet. Your love has been like scaffolding, supporting me as I rebuilt myself again and again. You didn’t just help me navigate Georgetown; you helped me find myself. You reminded me, time and again, that I was not a burden.
To my fellow students trying to find their way: I see you. I am you. And I’m here to tell you, it’s possible. Even when it feels impossible. Even when you walk through doors where no one looks like you. Even when your path is full of detours and heartbreak and uncertainty. You can make it. It’s about the communities who loved you in the present. Thank you for helping me see that my story wasn’t a limitation, it was destined.”
